Buying Sneakers: The Guide to Sneaker Stores in Adelaide

Finding the right place to buy sneakers in Adelaide can be difficult. Many people spend hours walking around Rundle Mall, Rundle Street and everywhere else looking for a fresh pair of Pumps or Dunks to no avail. Not anymore! We have put together a guide to the best sneaker stores in Adelaide in order to save you time and two very sore feet!

Our Online Store

The first place to check out, of course, is our online sneaker store. This store is designed to show you all the best sneaker listings on Ebay, old and new, so you can browse online and get them sent right to your door. Each day there are many new Dunks, Jordans, Pumps and more added to the list. Check it out here.

First in Flight

First in Flight

The next place to check out is First in Flight. This is probably the best sneaker store in Adelaide at the moment with a great range of Reebok Pumps, Nike Air Max 90s, Asics, Adidas and more.

The best thing about first in flight is their passion for sneakers. You can go in there and talk to the staff about the upcoming releases or different styles and they always have something cool to tell you. I have had many a cool chat with the guys in this shop and they always make you feel like a sneaker expert unlike some other stores that can be a little intimidating if you can’t remember what year the Air Jordan vintage remake was released!

The downside, however, is that their stock is sometimes limited. If you go in at the right time you will be amazed with their variety and range. But if you go in at the wrong time you might be a little disappointed at the number of styles on offer.

First in Flight is located at 7 Ebeneezer Place just off East Terrace and Rundle Street.

Hype DC

Hype DC

Hype DC is a brand new sneaker store that has just opened up on Rundle Mall. It is in the location of the old Starbucks (that didn’t last long!) right opposite the Myer Centre entrance.

The first thing you notice about this shop is the range. They have an absolutely massive collection of limited edition sneakers including Nike Dunks, Puma Speedcats, Asics, Adidas, Court Force and much more. I didn’t notice too many pumps though!

I was in Hype DC on the weekend and, even though it was cranking with Christmas shoppers, the staff members made me feel welcome and one dude even spent about 10 minutes talking to me about the opening of the store. This is the kind of customer service that makes you want to go back.

Don’t be surprised to see non-sneaker shoes in Hype DC. They stock a lot of stuff – women’s pumps (heels) too!

L.A.X.

For a long time LAX was just a fashion shop with a few sneakers in it but now it is one of the first places I go when I want to see what sneakers are out.

The great thing about LAX is that they usually get a lot of the same thing in. For example, I was looking for some Reebok Pumps Omnis a few months ago and they had in about four different varieties in all different colours. Lots to choose from. The other bonus is that it is right in the food court! Sneakers and Chinese food – perfect!

The only downside to L.A.X. is that it can be hard to get service. I have been in there a few times and struggled to get a staff member over to help me try on some shoes. However, my girlfriend tells me that the manager knows a lot about sneakers and was able to help her out a lot.

LAX is located at the bottom of David Jones in the food court.
