I just wanted to say a little bit about the Nike Air Max 90 which is, in my opinion, one of the top two sneakers of all time (the other one being the Reebok Pump). This sneaker has stood the test of time with hundreds and hundreds of remakes and amazing collaborations. It has been seen in blues and reds and blacks and all shades of brown. But every time you see this sneaker it stands out from the others on the rack due to its sheer simplicity and elegant style.

We have spent a lot of time posting pictures and reviewing the latest sneakers that come out. And of all these sneaker brands it is the Air Max 90 that continues to impress us the most. I wonder how much longer this amazing sneaker will stay relevant? I hope a long time. I for one love seeing them around town!

Who is the best DJ of all time? Many would say it is DJ Premier. Having worked with many of hip hop’s greatest artists this DJ has now stepped into the sneaker arena to produce Nike’s new Air Force 1 low cut rival series. The only thing that could make this cooler is if they made a Ganstarr series where both Premier and Guru put out a sneaker. Does anyone know whether this has already been done?

So what are the cool features of this sneaker? Well it has a super slick leather mixed upper with a very subtle black, brown, white and orange colour scheme. As always, Nike understand that less is more and produce sneakers that look good both dressed up and dressed down. The coolest feature of all, however, is the fantastic see through sole that has a very neat pattern designed on it. I wonder whether this might get a little dirty though.

Ok, so I may have bagged out Reebok Freestyles in the past for their 80s styling, and yes, these do look VERY American, but for anyone that loves comic book art, these are a must see!

These metallic Reebok Freestyles mimic Wonder Woman’s outfit beautifully. Red metallic body, star-spangled heel detail and gold velcro straps, a bold reference to DC Comics female star.

Admittedly, I rather display these as a work of art than put them on my feet, but there does exist a rare breed of female that could pull these off- someone as bold and strong willed as Wonder woman herself.

Finally, one for the ladies! I just bought some of these babies, and I’ve never loved a pair of shoes so much. I was one of those poor deprived children that was forced to wear no-brand shoes in the 90’s, NO MORE! I wear these gorgeous white high tops everywhere I can.

The Reebok Pump Aerobic Lite is chunkier than the Reebok Freestyle High Tops and therefore lend themselves to a more 90s retro feel rather than the overwhelming 80s style of the Freestyle. Such a blessing for all of us that wish that 80s fashion could be wiped from our consciousness Men-In-Black style.

As the name suggests they are lighter than other comparable styles, and, unlike some high tops, they don’t cut in at the ankle. The colour scheme is perfect for summer with the mostly white leather body, accented by touches of pink and turquoise. Great with jeans, skirts, shorts and funky dresses, these Reebok Pump Aerobic Lite’s suit any urban backdrop.

TIP: The Pump tag also makes a great keyring.

This great Autumn 2010 release from Nike plays up the military edge of the Air Jordan 1’s. The deep grey/blue dominates the body of the shoe using the typical high quality leather we are used to seeing in the Air Jordan 1 and is also used on the swoosh against the same colour perforated suede. The light blue offset is used minimally on touches to the soul, trim and tongue tag.

These Air Jordan 1 Premiers seem to take themselves more seriously than the more colourful versions so I suggest parring them back with a smart pair of chinos for a sophisticated, casual look. Please stay away from wearing with cargo pants to avoid looking like you just got back from war- unless that’s what you’re going for.

I have to admit that when I saw these Nike Air Pegasus 89’s my heart skipped a beat and a little bit of dribble dripped down my chin. In primary school these sneakers were my favourite. I was convinced they would make me run faster. The problem? My mother would never buy me a pair!

These Pegasus’ come in white, black and grey and are a classic version of what is one of the most loved and popular Nike sneakers of all time. This is one of the brands that started it all. It kick started the 90’s and is the essence of a cool pair of low cut shoes. I simply love them.

Every now and then Nike come out with a high top shoe that makes my mouth water. And this is one of them. The Nike Classic in black and white is my favourite shoe of the season with its bold but simple colours and very old school design.

If you take a close look you can see these sneakers on American Basketball courts in the late 80’s and early 90’s and now they are popular on University campuses all over the world. Take it from me, if you want a classic looking sneaker that is high but still understated then this is the one for you. It is sure to impress.

These Air Jordan III high top sneakers are some of the coolest we have seen in a long time. The bad news? They aren’t due out until 2010. The badder news? You probably won’t be able to get them in Australia. What else is new?

These Air Jordan’s are actually made to commemorate the wins that Michael Jordan had in the Slam Dunk contests back in the 90’s. It is amazing how long this legacy continues to last. It has been almost 20 years now and they are still making shoes commemorating stuff that Jordan did. I wonder whether it is time for a new star to step up and make some sick new sneakers?

In case you hadn’t realized, Air Jordan shoes are remakes of the shoes Michael Jordan was wearing back in the 80’s. This Air Jordan 1 is a new version of a sneaker he was wearing in 1985 – the high time of USA basketball.

The sneaker is a super high quality design and uses some really good materials. The black on this shoe is all leather and as such it is extremely durable while still being lighter than some other sneakers of this size.

The yellow swoosh on this sneaker is something that I really love. It is a furry fabric that is soft to touch and gives the sneaker and extra dimension or texture. These are the kind of small details that Nike never fail to produce – that’s why they are the best.
